Remove a background
Isolate an image subject, change its background color, or export a transparent cutout
To remove or change an image background in Breme, select a completed image frame in Canvas and choose Remove background. Select a compatible model and review its settings. Where Background is available, choose Clear for transparency, White or Green for a solid background, Color for a custom color, or Blur to blur the background. Press Remove, inspect the new image frame, and export the result. Use PNG to retain transparency.
Before you start
- A Breme account and a project
- A completed image frame on Canvas
- Sufficient generation credits
Select the source image
Open Canvas in your project and select a completed image frame. Upload or generate an image first if needed.
Set up background removal
Choose Remove background in the image actions panel. Select a model and inspect the controls it exposes. If it offers Background, choose Clear for a transparent cutout, White or Green for a preset solid background, Color to pick a custom color, or Blur for a blurred background. Review the credit cost, then press Remove. Repeat with another background option to create the different versions shown in the walkthrough.
Review the new image
Wait for the new image frame, then inspect the subject outline, fine details, and any unwanted background fragments. The original image remains available for comparison. The slider on this guide shows an example result.

Export the result
Select the result frame and choose Export. Choose PNG to retain a transparent background, or choose an available format for a solid-color or blurred result, then press Export. If you are compositing a cutout, place it into your image editor or compositing tool and check the edges against the intended background.
